About the Neighborhood

Agate Point & Seabold are two of the most pristine and serene areas of Bainbridge Island, with massive old cedar trees and homes on large parcels of land. If privacy is something you seek, look no further! This location is more remote but still convenient to all areas on the island and downtown Seattle, too, thanks to a commuter bus that stops at your driveway and takes you to the Seattle ferry, which is approximately 8 miles away. Reverse commuting to Bangor, Silverdale, and all other Kitsap County locations is also a breeze. Agate Point is home to the world-renowned Bloedel Reserve, a public garden and former home of Prentice Bloedel-it is a magical respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life spread across 150 acres of lush landscapes, tranquil forests, and stunning gardens. Other walking opportunities include several points of shore access and "the loop," as the locals call it, a lovely level 3-mile jogging or biking route on quiet rural roads. Seabold is an area known for its impressive homes with marvelous views of the Olympic Mountains, acreage properties with tree-line driveways, and Seabold Hall, the 1890 schoolhouse that is now a community center for dances, concerts and community events. This also is the location of the Agate Pass bridge, built in 1950, which connects the island to the rest of Kitsap County, the west side of the Puget Sound, and the Olympic Peninsula. There are fewer homes in this section of the island, and for some reason, they rarely come on the market.

Fun Facts: Seabold was originally called Bull's Town after one of the first homesteaders, William Bull. It was changed to the more pleasing name Seabold by Mr. Bull in honor of the bold seas that met him on the windy, stormy day he first arrived from Norway.

Seabold was the home of the island's first doctor–Dr. John Johnson. Both his residence and clinic are still standing-well preserved and now converted to gorgeous view homes.

The Clearwater Casino is just over the bridge for an evening of entertainment, spa day or overnight accommodations for guests.

The north end of Bainbridge is finally getting roundabouts; one at West Port Madison Rd. and another one at Ada’s Will Ln. This will improve safety and traffic flows!
