About the Neighborhood

Conveniently located just north of Winslow near several schools, the library, and the grocery store, Commodore and Commodore West are two neighborhoods that offer a wonderful sense of community. Built during the 70s/80s and 90's+, respectfully, both neighborhoods together hold about 130 homes, all with comfortable-sized lots, sidewalks, cul-de-sacs, and easy trails to the nearby schools and parks. Only about a three-minute drive to the ferry, and you're headed to Seattle, which makes this neighborhood nice for commuters and those who have children attending nearby schools. Safeway, Starbucks, Rite Aid, and a handful of casual dining restaurants are a short distance away. The Aquatic Center, a bustling spot for children and adults alike, is nearby as well. Access to the island’s extensive trail system is close, and it’s within walking distance to water access at Strawberry Plant Park. Commodore is a wonderful area attracting those who like a traditional style home and the neighborhood feel but still want a bit of yard space.
